About Bribie Island

Beautiful Bribie Island has that holiday feeling

Bordered by the serene waters of the Pumicestone Passage, Moreton Bay, and the surf of the Pacific Ocean and connected to the mainland by Bridge, Bribie has something to offer everyone. The island offers sandy beaches, national parks and world class fishing - all just an hours drive north of Brisbane.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and the crowded north and south coasts. On Bribie there are no traffic lights and no hassles. Just kilometres of white sandy beaches, hectares of wild flowers (80% of the island is National Park) and an easy going holiday atmosphere that will make you feel relaxed from the moment you cross the bridge. It is a sub-tropical holiday paradise, with all the conveniences, but minus the glitz and over commercialisation of many other destinations. Bribie offers so much more.

Pumicestone Passage, the stunningly beautiful passage of water which separates the island from the mainland is an internationally recognised marine park. The unspoiled environment is a naturalists delight as it provides protection to dugongs, turtles and dolphins. The passage is also a popular spot for amateur fishing and a range of aquatic activities.

Pumicestone Passage extends along the 32km western coastline of the island, stretching from Moreton Bay at the southern end, to Caloundra just beyond the northern tip. It remains one of the most beautiful and environmentally sensitive areas in Australia.

While on Bribie you can enjoy a wide range of aquatic activities, dine at some of the many wonderful restaurants and cafes and browse through interesting gift and arts and craft shops. Or just soak up that holiday feeling and do nothing at all.

Whatever your taste or age Bribie has something to offer.
